hello!
i am some fast fold poker fun player. fast fold is FUN!
my current games are zoom 6-max NL25 and NL16, depending on mood and stuff.
i am very comfortably rolled for NL50, but it's not a game that i feel like playing at the moment. i might add it to my games soon, though.
i started with pokerstrategy's "starting capital" and have never deposited any money of my own since. i found my favorite format very quickly in fast fold cash games.
i started by climbing in zoom 9-max from NL2 to NL100, which were most definitely the nittiest games on earth. i decided to quit NL100 after i felt that i had no edge, and got back to being a profitable player on NL50.
at that time, fast fold 9-max action was already starting to dry up, so i started to transition to NL25 6-max.
i ended up dropping the game for not-so-convincing reasons, and that happened some more times in the future.
i came back eventually, updated my game and was a small winner on zoom 6-max NL50 by the end of 2015. i felt it became too stressful with all the other life obligations, so i quit again.
after that i just played very casually, without any real consistency.
here's the 2018 graph (NL5-NL25). i almost didn't play at all until july 2018, as i'm going to explain soon
Spoiler

so, my biggest leak always was in opportunity cost.
despite always clearly being a winning player in my games, i switch interests very often and lose motivation very easily, which would cause me to randomly stop playing.
i won't say that i am a changed person, but in about the end of july 2018, some random irl non-poker person inspired me to use my time a little bit better.
poker seemed like a good way to put the ideas into practice. that ended up in me getting the idea of committing to playing at least 1k hands daily, NO MATTER WHAT!
surprisingly enough, i have managed to keep it up for all this time, through sick, tired and busy days! you probably wouldn't be reading this if it wasn't for them.
so, why a new blog? the old blog has kinda lost the feeling of continuity.
besides having been inactive for over a year at some point... i feel that, since the 2015 days, i have considerably changed, both as a poker player, as a person and in life situation. i am now in a stable spot in my life, and my mindset has improved considerably.
i just intend to keep playing 1k/day, and i will post graphs monthly. now, i am not sure what this blog is actually going to be about, but i can probably tell you what it's NOT going to be about.
most likely, you won't be seeing here much of:
- whining
- crazy challenges
- "poker lifestyle"
- actually insightful poker discussion (everyone is welcome to comment on hands, but they most likely won't be actually important spots and i might also just ignore it)
that doesn't mean that i'm not working on my game, of course, just that i don't want it to be a big public deal. i approach everything that i do with a mindset of continuous improvement, and that's probably my biggest strength.
on that note, i would like to look back and thank the people who were the most influential in my development as a poker player:
veriz: master of the old standard style, "the machine" got me and many others started with basic hand reading and a decent gameplan.
BrokeSoBroke: master of exploits and leveling, got me to understand how to actually use stats effectively and understand the relationships between stats, as well as greatly improving my hand reading. great guy, as far as my interactions with him were concerned.
w34z3l: master of putting theory into practice, got me to understand the game better in a theoretical level and greatly improve my standard gameplan in many important spots.
it goes without saying that there was also a lot of knowledge that came from others, but these three were the most important people.
i would also like to give special thanks to the random irl non-poker person. thank you, random irl non-poker person!
thanks for reading (or scrolling through). good luck in your endeavours!
