Hey guys (and my beloved trolls)!

It´s time for a 360 degree turn :f_tongue::f_wink: and a brand new, fresh start at the tables! Welcome! Come in and make yourself comfortable.

Yes, I decided to do a 360 degree turn as former SnG grindette. :f_wink: Which means: Back to the roots! Here we go again at the SnG tables! My regular readers will be familiar with my poker story, and for my new readers: Hello, welcome and have fun!

I´m Prim, a soon-to-be-best-ager :f_wink: woman from Germany, real life friend and "troll wife" :f_ugly: of our Super Blogger Harrier88, freelance Medical- and Scientific Writer, passionate tennis player, runner, hobby cook and constant gardener. :f_thumbsup:

So, what can you expect from this blog?
Of course a fun SnG diary, also some PLO CG, tennis and of course HOT stuff from the garden! :f_biggrin::f_thumbsup:

My poker story:
Back in 2016 I started grinding DONs and SnGs, built a nice BR from something like 20 € or so, grinded up all the way to the 11 $ SnG, until a bad downswing hit me and I couldn´t take it anymore mentally (BIG Mental Game leak!). Then I changed to PLO MTTs and PLO CGs. Only to find out that PLO is WAY swingier than my beloved SnGs. Well, then came COVID! And lots and lots of problems in our country. :rage::facepalm: Was quite busy being a little "rebel" but let´s leave out the dark side here! This is a poker blog and should be FUN! So, after completely loosing my motivation and passion for poker, worrying day and night about the things which are happening here, I was already considering quitting poker. But then a miracle happened: I re-discovered my passion for poker and "my good old" SnGs. So, here we (Sit and) go again!

But there will be more fun stuff here: PLO will stay, but as side-game, "Germanys next grindette" is back at the 9max SnG tables - and still remembers many things Collin Moshman and Honigmund38 taught her. Nevertheless, of course, I´m far away from the SnG-grindette I used to be, still got some skills, but gotta get into SnG play again, re-learn and newly learn some skills. Honestly, I have no idea where this should lead me, I am a recreational player, so, let´s see....

So, grab yourself a cup of coffee, tea or whatever you like and follow me during my SnG- and PLO-journey from donk to .......... ?

First! :f_grin:

Don't you worry about it, you got this down. :f_thumbsup: You were already doing all right back then, and now you are mentally stronger than ever before. Not to mention that you are not in it alone anymore. :f_wink:

I still got my handwritten notes from back then! Some ranges and post-flop play I still remember. And yes, I got mentally MUCH stronger!! There are WAY worse things than a downswing. What didn´t kill me, made me stronger!

So, how do we get started?

I play on Stars and Partypoker 9max turbo SnGs and some PLO-CG as well (I keep that one). To get into it again, I play 0,5 $ and 1 $ SnGs at the moment. My BR is around 390 €, and my BRM is of course way too conservative, but my knowledge is not where it should be yet, so let´s give it a little time and more practice and experience. We got started last week on Party Poker and we had a quite nice promising start:

Not much of a sample size, but we will get more.

So, how about the DONs, I used to play? Well, I´m not sure about those, maybe when traffic in SnGs is low? I don´t know yet.

Starting BR

So, decided to post my starting BR: 382,04 €.
Will not look at it frequently, we will focus on volume and correct play (postflop, push-or-fold-ranges). Don´t want to focus too much on short-term results, so, won´t look at my BR or post my BR too frequently, the main focus lies on getting into it again, quality of play and volume.

2nd (always the bridesmaid)....

It's funny - I was thinking of making a SNG comeback myself..... you may have just tipped the balance in making it a thing!

I do need to start from the very beginning because tournament play made me an absolute buffoon in recent years.

Then maybe I'll do it too... :f_p:

I mean, I already am grinding SNGs, just not Hold'em.

At the moment I started with 1 $ 9max on Party and 0,5 $/1$ SnGs on Stars. I think will will see each other at the tables! :f_biggrin::f_ugly: If you kick me out of a tournament, I get a nice (glutenfree) cake from you, yes? :f_tongue::f_ugly: :mdr:

I start from the very beginning, too. Starting with the lowest buy-ins, re-learning the ranges and go from there ..... :f_biggrin:

It´s not a big problem, you have to use glutenfree flour, that´s all! And by the way: I love strawberry cake! :f_tongue::f_wink::f_biggrin::f_ugly:

Super quick mini lunchbreak-SnG

Just tested the traffic around midday/early afternoon. Wanted to know if I can play some afternoon-sessions, and indeed, on Stars there´s nice traffic, on Party I could play at least 2 SnGs, which is great, because the SnGs on Party are super fishy. :f_biggrin::f_ugly: The SnG on Stars were super fishy too, could take two 2nd and one 3rd place and already got my obligatory suckout of the day. :f_ugly: (TT < 66 due to runner runner-str8, chips went in on a 8-9-2-Flop). Just played 4 SnG to test the traffic.

Hello maniac and welcome!
My main room is Stars, because traffic is good there. Party SnG can be quite profitable, though. I can´t think of any other room for us Germans? We´re banned from everywhere except for Party and Stars. :f_frown:

Yeeeeeees and I said "Hi" at the table! :f_tongue: Nice second place, Nazgos, as you know my AK didn´t make it, but nevertheless, played another small session today with probably a little profit (note that I do not look at my BR very often).

After a little study, I already get some ranges right again - others I still do not! :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly: Not going to use an SnG software yet, would like to wait with that until I´m at the 5 $ limits. At the moment I use charts and my old handwritten notes. :f_biggrin:

The five star menu (blooper of the day)

Well this is a blooper from yesterday, but I was so proud of my cooking. I cooked for Homer (my REAL LIFE husband :f_biggrin: ) a wonderful "five star menu", with five courses:

- Green salad
- Red beet salad with egg
- Palak Paner
- Chicken (a whole chicken in the oven), potatoe salad and Asian veggies
- A kind of "banana split" with chocolate pudding (but forgot to by ice cream)

Well, Homer was happy and enjoyed the menu. The problem was: After the third course (Palak Paneer) we were already full! :f_o::f_ugly: I cooked TOO MUCH!!! There are LOTS of left-overs! :rage: Had chicken for lunch with left-over salad, for dinner I´m having some potaoe salad with even more green salad and an egg. :rage: And there is still some chicken left!!! Could freeze down the Palak Paneer and the Asian veggies, but there are still left-overs to use up! Oh man! Cooked for ...like three husbands I guess.:f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:
