Bet more on flop, play turn as played.

What's this guys range once he called on flop? I don't think I'd coldcall anything on this monotone board.. but apparently he does. IMO we can really narrow down his range if you also take the preflop in consideration to 55-77-AK and if he's bad maybe KQ or some K and flushdraw hands but it doesn't look likely that he coldcalls those vs an UTG raise. He might even cc KK+ pre if he wants to keep the fish in the pot and doesn't want to 3b your UTG raise.

So bet/shoving doesn't look like the best option... might even be the worst option here? I just don't see any worse hands that we can get value from when we bet again.

That 5 just makes it even more unlikely for him to have set here.

I don't think he will have any flushes here (what hands does he have that make one? QJs?). He may also have something like TT/JJ with spade. That 7s also blocks a lot of possible hands like 87s and 76s.

If he has set, he also often raises the flop.

The most common hand people just flat on these boards are the nut flush, but since we have ace of spades, he can't have that. Many raise weaker flushes, but some people don't. But then again, what flush does he have.

He won't have KK here, if he wants to keep the fish in he can just raise small. Kinda bad idea to change your KK into setmining hand/bluffcatcher.

Yeah I agree.. tyvm nice analysis you really made me rethink this spot.

I think pair-flushdraw combo's are likely to coldcall on this flop, hands like 99-JJ with one spade. I dunno if he can have a flush here tbh... maybe he calls with hands like TJs, QJs, T9s, .. but most regs I know woulden't do that.

He should be raising stronger non-flush hands on the flop. Bet/shove turn looks good. Betting turn is the best option, we have good equity vs his shoverange so we can call.

Yeah that's true. I thought maybe he could flat the monotone board with a few more hands (i.e. top set + overpair), but that hand is the only other one that makes sense. I don't think he'd do that with J♠J or T♠T
tbh i think i fold the turn in his shoes.. you're almost never double-barrelling worse.

Hmm I like the hand as you played it, betting bigger on the flop is possible, but I think unnecessary, we actually want him to call with what ever kind of draw he could have.
