mmmh which hand you put him on? AJxx? because I think he is too committed to the pot and he is never folding the higher straight or the flush

I mean, he probably knows that if he check he will have to pay 170$ to see the showdown, so I don't think he is ever bluffing, and if he is, you have the lower straight to call with as a bluff catcher

so basically imho if you raise you will never receive a fold from a better hand, and since you still have a made hand y can call if you think he can double barrel with air

this way of reasoning can be a good explanation? I'm just trying to learn this game ^^

I like the turn call, so long as you're planning on betting the river if a blank hits and opponent checks. A turn raise is obviously suicidal and the only hand you beat that calls there is a set+flush draw.

Again, the river bet doesn't look like a bluff, some kind of value bet from a non nut flush, maybe opponent had a hand like K :heart:5  on the turn that he bets to try and protect.

I think a nut straight probably check calls the river and a turn bluffer has to think that you've either improved on the river or aren't folding so probably gives up.

I think I time the clock down then flip a coin and either call or fold, but raising is something i'm never considering on this river.

I put him on a flush a lot here so call is no good. If he has lower than k-high flush I probably can get him to fold beacuse i think I rep A high flush very good. The problem is that his line stinks a high flush so my bluff is probably not good. I dont think he valuebet his AQ on river.

Well given you put him on a flush you have to think, what would he legitimately bet on the turn full pot that also has a flush draw?

So we get nut flush draws, king high flush draws with 2pair/set. We hold the J  ourself so the next best flush draw is 9 high so maybe another J9 with a 9 high flush draw.

I'm not sure a raise can get opponent to fold any of these, only a baby flush he might let go given your raise is quite small in comparison to the pot.

As I said I think now it is a pretty clear fold. The problem was that I thought I could rep a big hand because have not a maniac image and did not think as much about the opponents hand.

Lets say we had K2-high flush in this spot, is pushing for value a good thing? You said he probably only fold baby flushes here.

If you had a king high flush draw you almost certainly would have pushed the turn since it would be dumb to call a full pot bet without having say a set or straight to go with it. :f_biggrin:

But if you did get there I'd shove to a non full pot bet since I would expect the nut flush to jam that river.

I think it is a lot of good K-high flush draw we rather want to call a turn bet? Like two pair, set, open ender, 2nuts and gutshot. Though. we don´t have many sets and two pair after checking back the flop.

K-high flush raise on turn is a good move, but dont think should be practiced very often when we have so much money behind because we have to raise/fold it.

My point is a king high flush draw by itself is not enough to justify a turn call of a full pot bet. You need something else to go with it that makes it a hand strong enough to see showdown. By itself it is a clear and easy fold (say 1 pair and king high flush draw)

But if I had a hand like KJ9x with a king high flush draw I would be raising the turn a lot of the time here. Same with a set+flush draw since i'm trying to get J9 to fold and I have 20 outs anyway so it's a flip vs a straight.
