Every bit from your computer will pass trough a sever from your uni library... that would stop me....

as a certified computer networking technician I can tell you that unless you are playing on cake poker, or any of the platforms on the same network you should be safe. As far as I know cake poker had some issues which were highlighted by the crew over on Pokertableratings about security over local networks.

All other platforms should be secure, and I would have no problem playing with a large bankroll on a uni network.

I would be more concerned about how secure your computer is, eg do you have keyloggers on your pc.

The uni sucurity may have a block on certain sites like gambling sites and such.

i doubt that's the reason cuz porn is not blocked

also kaspersky can't update

That's because they don't block educational material

It's probably more like a blocked ports thing and not blocked content, happened to me when I lived in student dorm just that for me rooms like ftp & stars worked but rooms like cake, pacific did not.

Two awesome comments in one quote:D

At my university some of the poker sites that I connect to when im in my room using a wired connection do not work when i am on the wireless network out and about (cake, william hill, bet365) but stars works on the wireless. I dont know what the exact problem is unless different ports are blocked on the wireless/wired networks. Annoyingly i cant get on most sites on either connection e.g. full tilt

Maybe they are blocking certain ports that are used by some poker rooms to connect? You should be able to change the port (at least it worked me for Stars).

just a little update, that problem with cake poker was fixed back when they upgraded to 2.0.

dont be worried about cake anymore.
