1) Call the river. He should be able to bluff with a busted flush or straightdraw.

2) Nh.

1) mh do you think that he would check/raise a draw in that situation ? imo it really looks like a made hand he wants to protect... on the other hand 9 to 1 on the river is quite a bit ^^

1) I think I would check/raise a draw here (mainly a flushdraw) because I don't like a donkbet. I see a good chance to get a TAG off the hand. (The turn and rivercard are bad for me. ;))

But the flop check/raise doesn't depend on the turn and river so if the river would be a 9 or T (you don't have AK, AT) would you calldown A-high or a smallpair anymore? What if the river doesn't pair?

Now let's asume that BB just plays his draw aggressive without having a tought that the turn and rivercard are bad to bluff us so a draw is possible again.

In the end I could be totally wrong. ;)

I would definitely call the river in hand 1. I think he's going to be bluffing a busted draw often enough to make the call profitable.

i like your explaination but i´m not sure if the average 0,5/1 player would think this way too.

ok i asked nrockets :)
first he said that it´s a call vs. unknown (i think at your/his limit the call would be even easier right ? ). when i mentioned that the hand was played at 0,5/1 he tended to fold if the opponent isn´t aggressive. then i gave him the stats and he said that it´s pretty close (not many hands) but he tends to call :)

Exactly bcause they don't think that far it's a call. Or do you mean the check/raise?

the check/raise... imo the average 0,5/1 player would donk or check/call the flop here (with a draw)

I agree but here I would rate him more as a TAG.

Those stats aren't standard for a 0.5/1 player, against such a player it is quite an easy call for me at least.

it´s only 64 hands... and i know that it´s pretty easy to agree after a 5/10 and a 30/60+ player have evaluated a hand ^^

//edit: hm sorry. i was a bit pissed when i posted here (didn´t have anything to do with that forum or thread). no offence of course ^^

Well, my average 0.5/1 player is 35/13 and even then I'd call. This guy is way more agressive than 95% of the players. Yes it's not a lot of hands, but you can see the difference clearly after that amount of hands between standard or TAG/LAG.

Actually I didn't really agree, for me this would be an easy call and for nrockets it's not an easy call?

it would be an easy one for him. but not with only 64 hands

For me 64 hands with those stats makes me feel like I've got a good impression of the stats my opponents has and the way he plays. Is that wrong or something? Do you need at least 100?

mh depends on which stats you need :)
you don´t need many hands to get a good impression about someones vpip but ats e.g. could need quite a lot hands to make sure.

but my main target was to point out that it´s not a clear call for me on that limit. i think 64 hands would have been enough for me to call (at least i think so) but it´s still not an obvious call for me

You are both right. 64 hands is not enough but it's something you can go with.

EDIT: For it wasn't an easy call either. Just look how I tried to explain why I would call and started struggling with it. :)

EDIT2: Ah I see that it's between Yoghi and you. ;)

"between yoghi and me"... that sounds like we are having a fist fight here ^^

Would be at least very interesting.

I think maybe this discussion shows the importance of reads on a player as compared to just stats.

VPIP and PFR stats converge quite quickly, but you can get a feel for the way an opponent plays much quicker than that, particularly if you're not multitabling.

henne didn't give any specific read, but maybe he felt he was up against an opponent who is capable of bluffing a busted draw.

To me though, the default play against a semi-unknown player would be to call on a draw heavy board when the river card is a blank.
