Read the psychology articles on tilt and bank roll management.

The type of game you want to play is entirely up to you and your personality, though $1 SnGs (Sit and goes) are probably a good way to begin. Make sure you read the articles that are related to your type of game, and also download the starting hands charts, as they will save you a lot of money and difficult decisions in the beginning.
