Playing half stack here, villain 40/0 after only 5 hands. I raise with AQ then am 3 bet by short stack.

You´re getting quite good odds to shove:
4.41+0.3+0.8 = 5.51: (4.41-0.8) 3.61 is 1.53:1, which means you should have average 40% equity if you get all-in.
Against TT+, AQ+ you have 35% equity, which should make it raise/fold pf

Since you raised 4x I would generally prefer going AQ with 5-handed against midstack, but raise/fold against tight player is also fine.
