You didn't Check the river but he did bet, and you folded.

But about the play I don't like that much your sizing on turn, you kinda induce him to bluff even against you if he has some kind of missed draw. Rather 2nd barrel it ~$1,10 or something similar and not induce him to bet the river. Although that's true that I'd also rather fold the river, not much you can do.
