hi all, iv just been reading the so called poker bible super system.
it portrays mr brunson as what id class as a loose maniac, his theory is to take alot of small pots by raising with underdog hands as long as there are outs to catch making players uncertain if hes holding a premium hand or trash, which inevetably thayll fold as not to risk there stake. if any body has read thay will undrestand wat im talking about.
my question is, is this really a profitable strategy to hold in your arsenal
depends on your post-flop skill.
great players play very loose because they have an incredible post-flop skill. Their skill allows them to play loose
you have to remember that Super System one was written before online poker was even a thought, so is written towards live games. Also, practical poker theory has moved on, making some, if not most of the content obsolete in todays game. I have read his book, and would agree that it promotes a LAG style of play.
Yeah its live full ring so doesn't all apply but even online if you give action you get action so being aggressive still good
