Hello everyone,

We've (me and my classmates) were playing poker for a while now, every free break and every free moment we had. We used to play normal format, but now we started to play some silly variation of cash game.

At the start of every hand, everyone who plays pays ante of 1BB. Thing is, noone ever has, or rarely has more than 5BBs. So that pretty much makes it push or fold. So me, guy who loves poker maths, is thinking about what range push or fold should be? We normally play 5 or 6, so bank is already more than anyone's stack preflop. So stealing dont has to be succesfull very often ro be profitable, plusn we still have equity. I tried to count something with nash: http://www.holdemresources.net/hr/sngs/icmcalculator.html?action=calculate&bb=100&sb=0&ante=0&structure=1.0%2C0%2C0&s1=100&s2=100&s3=100&s4=100&s5=100&s6=200&s7=&s8=&s9=

Any idea how close it is to an acctual profitable pushing range?

Thanks.

Pretty easy to play from BB :f_biggrin:

Profitability of those ranges depends on other's calling/shoving ranges, you might need to shove wider/tighter to make profit.

Perhaps you should take this to 888.

They have Push or Fold tables, Max 5 BB's :P

No antes though..

Yeah, the thing that the pot, even preflop, is bigger than anyone's stack most of the time, makes it hard to calculate exact profitable range, but it also means that we should push it quite a lot. Also, players are not really good too, if they see that we are pushing a lot, they will start to call even wider.

if you have any kind of fold equity, I'd be pushing 75-85%.

if your stack is 500 chips, and pot is 1.2k, you only need to win the pot less than 30% of the time to break even.

so basically, vs 1/2 people to act i'd be shoving :

any pair,
any ace
any king
any suited queen.

my calling range would be stuff with domination value:

vs 1 person,

55+
any ace
any suited king
K5o+ (rough estimate)

in multiway calling, you want to play less crappy pairs, so maybe 77+.
drop the Qx and below.

All I can think of.

such a simple game, you can pretty much use nash equilibrium...

Thanks for your input conall,

But actually, if we say that pot is 1,2k, our stack should be 1k, not 500. So now we need at least 45% equity. That means range should be tighter.

Also, about nash equilibrium, i trued to used, as you can see in first post, but it didn't let me to put 0 in blinds. I'll try to google now for one which lets to do that.
