Would it not be more beneficial if we all just had a single Screen Name across all sites.
But i am sure its to late to install such a system
Maybe Networks could start by making sure all players use their same SN on the sites they play on within their network.

We could then have better stats on a player
Less chance off fraud and bots

Its a pretty good idea but this is just never gonna happen.

Sites are against players having stats of each other.

Hey eixip60,

Although I think this idea definitely has some merits I think that the problem would be that fish gets scared.

Imagine there was a fish called "ILOVECALLING72" and there was 2p2 thread and articles about him all voer the internet how he lost $5m. He wants to keep playing poker but he wants to play for fun and not have all vulture regs trying to take money off him and then reading about it the next day online.

He signs up at a new poker site so that he can escape all the abuse and then is told he has to use the same screen-name. It would end up in disaster and scaring all the fish away is definitely something we don't want to encourage.

Thanks
Patrick

multiple names for multiple sites, why the hell would u change sites if you will be known as a 20/15/3 reg @ nl50 etc... Being unkown is +EV :P, and its a fact.

Hi eixip60,
I think it could well work the other way as well. If I was a tough reg, it would get even harder to get into a 'good' game I should think.

Regards,

Mal.

Unless I get the Screename "Matt" I wont be happy.

I don't want any Numbers, letters or words after it, Matt, Matt, MATT!

I'm the only one worthy of the Original

I think the total opposite of the idea is better.
I mean if we could change our user names anytime at any site and if we're any good, we could easily tell who the fish is anyway but wouldn't have to worry about regs working with shared databases. But if everybody would have info on everybody, than even weak players would start winning from the fish, which would scare away the fish from online poker eventually, because they simply can't win.

The only disadvantage I can think of is bots, unfortunately it'd help them a lot.

In either case, we can all agree, that none of it will happen.

If your name was synonymous with Chandler Bing you'd initial it as well :f_biggrin:

On topic with the original post, the idea is in theory a good one but almost impossible to implement as it would require cooperation between rival sites. Also the logistics of reorganising the screennames would be very difficult. And what about networks such as iPoker where someone can have five or six different aliases on different sites within the network?

Have to say most off my screen names start with eixip but you find if your on the same network ie blackbelt & 770 you have to add numbers to show difference .

To be honest I believe if USA bring online back they may insist to ensure it can be easily monitored

Of course a lot of regs share data bases , you can buy them online

I think there is 2 sides this both plus and minus

Ofc multiple names makes sense, how else would HSPros play under unknown names and own everyone else they have Notes/Stats on
