I was wondering, is it worth flipping on the bubble ?
Let's look at an example:
You have AK and you know Villain has 99 (for the sake of this discussion). Let's imagine that you are not the two big stacks and that there's a dude with 3 blinds left because that changes everything, but, imagine that there are 4 players with equal stacks.
So you're faced with a decision - should I call this guy's push.
1 out of 2 flips you will win.
If it's a 1.20 9-man SNG with 50/30/20 payout, in the even that you win and say finish third later on, you will win 1.80 (or 0.60 net profit after covering the buy in).
In the event that you lose, you will lose 1.20. So on average, if after winning the coin flip you finish third, you'd be losing 0.60 (-1.20 + 0.60).
Yet you have the potential to hit 2nd or third place.
So what's your opinion ?
