Please Comment on my play (better to minR?) and on BBs call. Thanks.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $600(BB) Replayer
SB ($8,010)
BB ($1,850)
Hero ($8,330)
BTN ($1,810)

Dealt to Hero A♣ K♣

Hero raises to $8,330 (AI), fold, fold, BB calls $1,250 (AI)

FLOP ($4,000) 4♥ 4♦ 6♠

TURN ($4,000) 4♥ 4♦ 6♠ 9♥

RIVER ($4,000) 4♥ 4♦ 6♠ 9♥ 8♣

BB shows 9♠ Q♦
(Pre 33%, Flop 22.0%, Turn 86.4%)

Hero shows A♣ K♣
(Pre 67%, Flop 78.0%, Turn 13.6%)

BB wins $4,000

Shove and minraise-fold versus SB are both ok. Depends of SB bubble approach.

BB call is bit too loose. Though he cannot be that picky with this stack setup.

PS: First misread that SB called somehow

I tend to get mixed responses here when i talk to others about minraising or shoving these spots. I suppose you can look at it like you did in this hand when it might increase FE :

$3 BvB committing minRaise

....but i also find that a shove can look weak too, and also invoke a similar response from a villain with marginal holdings. I guess either way you tend to get almost the same result.

I was given a guide which deals directly with calling 10bb/7.5bb/5bb shoves (pivot points i think they are called) from BB based on both good/bad players which actually has this hand in the range. I would be happy to share with you.

i think that if our plan is to MR/fold to the SB (and folding is the best play if he shoves), then this is a clearly open shove.

if he wakes up with KK AA, sucks, but it's a 1500 or something like that pot, and that's a lot of chips, and we have a great hand

this - if he's aggressive and knows of bubble risk aversion, we open shove to avoid having to r/f this hand

Agree totally depends on SB's expected play.
Also pivot points that Colonel was talking about can be very useful, recommended
