warm welcome to the forum. whew! you've got quite a lot of questions there.

i hope some of the members can chip in, but to be honest, majority of the forum is made of online players from europe and asia. i think the best and most accurate source of info would be to email the WSOP support directly. it's at the bottom of the page you posted.

That's all it is, yes. Generally the ring events are the more prestigious ones. But also higher buyin, more people.

If you get knocked out in day 1A you can reenter in day 1B. People who survived day A go through to day 2, where they are joined by the people surviving day 1B. if you get knocked out from both, then that's it, your tournament is done.

That'll depend on how many runners they get for the satellite

Thank you for the response and the warm welcome! I went looking for the best poker discussion forums I could find, and sadly most of them seemed to be a few years out of date because they'd been hosted by actual commercial poker sites. So I thought I'd give it a shot here, though I will of course understand if nobody here has the expertise to help.

Believe it or not, I did use the "Contact WSOP" page - which basically says "If you can't find an answer to your question, send us an email." I did exactly that several days ago, asking my questions in detail - and the reply, which arrived the next day, said, "Call our customer service number. We hope you've found this reply helpful."

I called the customer service number, and nobody there was able to answer my questions. They said they host the WSOP events, but they don't work for the WSOP.

So I'm really not sure where to go at this point. The WSOP website seems to presume everyone who plays in these tournaments already knows how the tournament works.

Ultimately I've been playing some variation of tournament Texas Hold 'em for about eleven years, but I've only gotten semi-serious about it in the past two years.

Thanks for your help, chenny8888! I guess at this point I consider "how do I sign up for the damn things?" to be the most important question, so I'll keep pursuing that.

they'll have it on the day at the casino, just rock up with cash an hr in advance or something and you'll be fine.
