His turn cap is a bit suspicious and looks like JJ or AA to me. When he checks back the flop and raise/caps the turn it looks like you're beat actually. Interesting if he would play AK this way. I think the river 3bet is a bit overplayed but on the other hand he's all-in and can't cap so it should be alright. I would checkraise the river instead of donkbet but it doesn't matter that much, esp. vs shortstack.

I think just c/cing the river can't be that bad, if I had an image of him that he's not capable of spewy overplay on turn with tp etc, I would probably just c/c the river.

But can his short stack influence our decision?

Shortstack does influence the situation. Way often when i've been in that situation the shortstacker who has been playing reasonably for the time he had a stack now became spewy. Psychologically he's frustrated and wanna win his money back. It's this all or nothing mentality. "Ok, i'm broke anyway, i put in the rest with this hand and either i'll be entirely broke or i catch back enough chips to be back in the game"

People use to shove in the rest of their chips without really thinking. I don't wanna say that's the case in general but very often i've observed a change of opponents behaviour when they got very short in chips and so i would just put in all the money here although taavis argument sounds reasonable. It really looks like AA or JJ. How did he play before he got short? Did he overplay his hands? Given reasonable assumptions you should just check/call the River or at latest after his Riverraise just call.
