Playing MSS in live poker?

U have to remember that live poker always plays bigger. So if u buyin for $80, even tho its 40bb, u really are pretty short. MSS would work in live poker, tho u would have to make some adjustments for live poker.

If u should take a shot depends on the significance of the $800 to your life. If losing it will cause u hardshps in RL, dont take the shot. If u dont really care about the $800, take the shot.

not a good idea, you usually need to isoraise much larger in live. so as i5bet72o said you are probably going to be 20-30BB effective in terms of the stack to pot ratio

Give it a go if you can do without them money.

I'd say that it wouldn't work in my local casino. Pots get bigger quicker due to more players being in them. That means your raises are going to become all-ins much sooner as half pot raises will be half your stack.

Due to more players being in the pots your all-ins will get called more often and the variance will increase due to the wider range of hands you'll come up against, making them less profitable.

This is my opinion based on the state of play at my local casino, where also there are fewer tables so it sounds like it could be different sort of poker room but I'd bear the above in mind. (my local casino is very much blackjack and roulette orientated with poker at the back where the geeks hang out. The bulk of the clientele are on the casino games drunk out of their skulls.

MSS live = shortstack , raises are quite bigger than on a virtual felt + plus the people are more loose and more willing to call than fold ---> most of people on the live table play deepstacked. I would make the first buy in 100bb and if you get nailed then shortscatk it

yeh mss didn't work out, too many callers.. so I ended up playing textbook SSS with 40bb.. lost a few allins but ended up +4 buyins by end of the day. It seems to be a high variance but winning longterm strategy
