Poker is not what is used to be.
I have been playing poker for a while. the major part of my "career" is 12 table NL200 on various poker sites with different screennames. I will play as high as NL-PL600 with fewer tables. I mainly play NLHE and PLO like everyone.
First and foremost, poker used to be fun. People played online like they would play with a bunch of friend at home with a beer at hand. Well my friends, not anymore. Pokersite competition is almost non-existant, and almost every poker player online play ABC poker. Not only the regs, but the recreational poker player. People learned how to play tight, and it completely killed the game. I mean EVERYONE.
The average VPIP for table a Pstars is what, around 13% 9handed? This is ridiculous, 13 hands out of 100 will see the flop. Considering you play about 65 hands an hour on a table, you will see the flop 13 time every HOUR and a HALF of play. Not only that, but seeing the flop doesn't mean you are involved in the hand, far from it. And it doesn't mean the hand will go to showdown.
Online sites love this so much, people will play up to 24 tables at one time to fight boredom and rake in more hands, making little to none profit. You don't need to start posting your awesome winning graph, I get that point.
As a general rule of thumb, in my career I found out that my winnings where pretty much at par with the money the poker room raked from me. If I made 1K, the room made another 1K of my back. If I make 500$, they made roughly 500$ with rake. We are getting raped but we are loving or VPP. Loyalty program is the dumbest thing and is part of what ruined poker.
I foresee Holdem losing tons of follower drasticly moving toward PLO. The same thing will happen with PLO. Squeeze the lemon until the last drop. It has been what 10 years since the poker craze went off? In 10 more years there is no way there will be 250,000 players at peak hours on PS.
