i'd definitely recommend the NL beginners course. i had a breaking even graph on fulltilt NL2, then i started and began to post hands for evaluation and stuff... and magic
i quickly was already winning at NL5 rush (probably, just 10-15k sample or something i can't remember) but... well we all know what happened to fulltilt right ♦

in any case i got a second capital on everest, finished the course, took a break, then now i'm rebuilding it's NL5 again...

Veriz (I think is his username) who helps out at the hand evaluation forums is awesome, I've starting posting there some hands that trouble me.

I find it interesting how friendly most people are on these forums.. yet when I open poker client I have the chat turned off, the images blocked - I become a weird multi-tabling machine that only wins/loses money against other faceless machines.

It's exciting and "cyber cool", but strange.
I can't shake off the feeling that it is strange.

I started playing NL4 today, in order to participate in Poker770's "cash point" promotion, but also to try it out since I do have the suggested BR.
It actually went well, so I'll stick around on NL4 - unless things go terribly wrong. Yippie!

Poker770 has some really nice promotions, so although I'm not satisfied with how I play I'm managing to increase my BR.

I'll definetly work on my game, though.
Since I've been so productive (non-poker related) and happy today, I don't mind breaking even in the end.

Oh, and, I'll be gold rank on pokerstrategy tomorrow so I'll check out those vids.

Okay, now that i finished my joke - thanks for stopping by you two and thanks. ^^

I've continued playing on Poker770, though my volume decreased a little. But, it's alright, I'm happy with my current level of donkey play and very happy with my BR. And I'm having fun!

As you don't know, I'm a NL cash game player - but, actually, the only reason I didn't bust my $30 (at the time) starting capital from PS is because I won $30 playing Poker770's "Steps" SNGs with my last few cents.

I have played a lot more of them since (... and only managed to get another $30 out of them). I'm extremely happy with my results, but it got me thinking about how much time these occasional tournaments I play take and how do they compare among themselves in terms of $/hour.

So I made a little script that would summarize the "tournament" games I have played so far and outline a few stats that I wanted to see.

Total: $50.30

23 seconds for 351 file seems a bit much.. -.-'

Of course some formats (HU Roulette for example) I only played once so that stats don't show much.. but I'm happy to see the data summarized like this and maybe once I play more different formats I could notice what seems to be the most profitable for me.

For now I just find it very interesting to look at "Average playing times" and compare it. Didn't know it takes about 30 minutes to finish a Step tourney. In time some more useful analysis might come up.

One small note: the script doesn't understand "tokens" so it calculates everything using token value as real money.. that's why the numbers are inflated, but the bottom line Total is correct and that's the only thing that matters to me, since I don't worry about rake from tournaments.

Does anyone think this script might be useful?

Hey guys and girls, I'm back!
I'm now playing nl20 on ipoker, hehe.

Unfortunately, I lost most of my hand histories so I won't be able to have a graph that shows the accumulated profit from every poker hand I ever played, which was something that I always wanted. It's no biggie, though. I started from PokerStrategy starting capital and now I have millions. You know what, I think I do have a graph!
