Top pair shove

As there's a high chance you're going to be in the bubble after this hand if you stay in I would consider playing much tighter. The SB has represented a very strong hand meaning you can be fairly confident of him having a good chance of knocking the BB out. Personally I would fold to the 3bet preflop in your situation, especially as the SB is the chip leader and could knock you out.

As for the flop play I'd be far too weary of the SB holding AA, KK or QQ or even JJ to push. Ideally I would want to call and see the turn in this situation but that would bring you close to being pot committed and the only outs are for a backdoor flush draw, two pairs if an ace comes, or 3oak if another jack comes.

I can understand the push and I'm not quite sure what I would have done in this situation. I think the best idea would have been to get out of the way pre-flop before investing too heavily personally!

This is a very clear fold preflop. Even though you're getting a good price on your money, you will be forced to put money in very bad very often postflop. I would contemplate making it small preflop as well.
