PokerStars - $0.45+$0.05|600/1200 NL - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 13,283.00
BB: 15,256.00
UTG: 15,338.00
CO: 4,772.00
Hero (BTN): 25,335.00

SB posts ante 125.00, BB posts ante 125.00, UTG posts ante 125.00, CO posts ante 125.00, Hero posts ante 125.00, SB posts SB 600.00, BB posts BB 1,200.00

Pre Flop: (pot: 2425.00) Hero has T♥ 9♥

UTG raises to 2,400.00, fold, fold, fold, BB calls 1,200.00

Flop: (6025.00, 2 players) 2♣ 7♦ 9♠
BB checks, UTG bets 4,800.00

Call, shove or fold??

This really seems like a way ahead way behind kind of deal but if I call for pot control then most of the time stacks are going in on the turn and I have to be concerned about anything but a complete brick.

dont make these calls unless you are going to play them.
Cbet the flop, you have top pair.
As played its fifty/fifty,against a LAG shove, against a NIT fold.
Villain has already invested half his stack so he should be committed so I think calling is a mistake as only a 10 or 9 will improve so you would just be delaying the decision.

You are not in this hand. You folded preflop right? Which I agree with. Calling with T9s works better with deep stacks.

OK, but the hand history says that Hero is BU. So if you are actually the BB and you have 15000 chips you should either push or fold this preflop. I'd lean toward folding and if he is stealing here with something worse, that's OK, you can get him the next time when you have a stronger resteal hand. As played I would bet/fold the flop for about 2500 chips.

if you're bu fold to a hj raise from a short stack -> not much fe + behind against his range = fold
