Hi,

On the flop I have the advantage against BB 3beting range so the c/r, b, b line I think its ok.
But on the river i get raised, I dont see any hand that could raise here that doesnt have me beaten, maybe some Kx but with the A on the flop and my c/r dont think a Kx would raise for value, most probable its a trip or tow pair or maybe a slowplayed Ax.

what you could beat is some sort of a bluff (like JT QT), or a weak made hand that he turns into a bluff eg. an underpair. most players never think to do this, so folding the river is probably okay. i agree that they'll usually show some sort of a 2pair hand or a set.

if there's a chance that villain has no idea what he's doing :), i'd call hoping he has something weird like a Kx hand that made a nonsense raise. or perhaps he could 'slowplay' an Ax hand that we chop with.

On one hand he can't represent that much unless he did delay a strong hand like 99 AK etc but on the other hand, as you mentioned as well, i don't see many worse hands he could be bluffing with. It makes no sense. Checkraise Flop in a blindbattle is fine. There are straightdraws possible and his range relatively wide to induce enough calldowns from worse hands. Without a read would never fold this hand because you cannot because you're not supposed to project your assumptions about wrong and right on your opponent. Jsut too many crazy people out there and folding tp is exploitable in a blindwar but given that player has proved himself to be reasonable i don't see any reason not to make that fold. Especially since 8 visually improves your hand and people usually don't turn Pairs into a bluff.

So what was your read about that guy?

I just had like 20 hands on this guy.

But it was the typical loose pasive player that openlimps and that kind of stuff.

personally i would just call down with a weak Ax hand like A4 here. That is if he bets all streets. but yeah he probably has something like K8 - K9 . two pair style.

this line is like = two pair+ on stars same limits from the fishier players. so what i do is just call the river and hope some Kx raised. but expecting to see a better Ax or two pair. and on to the next hand :)

Limping is an indication for a passive player but at the same time an indiciation for not a reasonable one and 20 hands are nothing and check/calling down is not a bad line either as your check/call gets too weak if you checkraise the flop with any ace. I would vary the lines but i stick to my line and first i do pay off and see what he's got.

Hi

Folding vs his river raise could be a bit exploitable. We're in blind vs blind which means top pair is quite strong. Its true that in this situation we will not tend to have many worse value hands when we check/raise the flop, but if we also have some bluffs (some suited connector + back door draws which picked up a draw or pair on the turn) then we would end up folding quite often vs this raise if we also fold top pair with a weak kicker.

I think we just don't know enough about our opponent to fold in this situation. If we have a read that he doesn't over value marginal hands, if we knew that he was putting us on the kind of hand we're representing (which in this case, is the hand we actually have), and if we knew he wouldn't try a speculative bluff THEN i think we can fold.
