$4.50 180-man 99 set on scary board

IMO, the check is perfectly fine, since in these tournaments, you don't see a lot of limp/folding in the early stages. I would def bet the turn, like 90-100 and hope for the boad to pair, if not c/f river, but that's just my opinion. You could argue with check/raising the flop as well.

i dont mind checking behind pre, you are oop vs 2 opponents and if you dont flop a set/overpair to board you will be in gross spots the majority of the time.

there are arguments for leading flop, or x/r'ing

turn i would cc and evaluate river, villains hand range is much wider than Tx here

you could bet/broke turn against 2pairs and fds or you could check/call and reevaluate on some cards on the river!
but ch/f turn is not good with your set here
