I think you had a lot more showdownvalue with the J's. I personally would c-bet with your 8's. But that also depends on villains 3-bet stats. And if your playing cc then fold on the turn. Since your hitting opponents range.

I think your drawing dead with your pair of 8's. At least with your J's your blocking startinghands like JT,JK->JA. So there's a big difference in playing 8's or J's on a K flop. ..

Hey :)

With 88s, we have any 9,T,J,Q,A as overcard while with JJ we only have 2 overcards. Therefore we do not have showdown value here but have with the JJ.

You can't check/call here as you would get bluffed out too often on later streets or get owned by Toppair

So since your out of position, it is also harder to get to showdown so it is better to make a cBet here
