Villain is a winning reg with stats - 12/8/4.3(94) 3bet for 215 hands.
What do you think about the regs on this limits? Can they often 3bet via bluff on this spot?If we call here, our post flop play will be very difficult. If he 3bet us only for value, call with hand like this will be bad.

Villain is probably only 3bet bluffing if he has history or a read on you. That said, he can still 3bet with a wide range so you could 4bet/fold.

tbh this early i would probably make the call and assess on the flop

Hi all,

I'd call here and play a flop. I would expect anyone who sizes correctly like this opponent to have a 3bet bluff range. It won't be very wide, however their value range will be pretty narrow also. 4bet/folding is a waste of this hand.

What value range, without history, do you give to regs in this spot?If you are in this situation(vice CI),what range will you 3bet vs unknown/vs reg(with 50BB/75BB/100BB)? With what range will you play for all stack vs each type of opponents. What type of hands will 3bet as bluff and how much % from our value range is good to be our bluff range?

Hi all,

Value: JJ+ AK

Air: lots of random unpaired hands such as: QTo+, 87o+ (not KQo), Axo.

Pre antes I don't think he will ALWAYS 3bet those air hands, but he will often enough for us to call this hand.

Without history I would not have a bluff 4bet range here. I think the first hand you would include if you chose to 4bet "bluff" would be AJo because of the blockers.

BTW Please reopen the thread if you have more questions :).

If we are in LP and 3bet open raiser from MP(who is a reg), do you think we can profitable 3bet/push with JJ, AK?If villain don`t have 4bet bluffs, I don`t think we will have pot odds to stack vs their 4bet range.
I am not accustomed with the dynamic in high limit MTTs, because I don`t have enough volume, and I still wonder, can I play for all stack with these hands and 75bb deep stack?
If i can`t 3bet/push profitable these hands, is it better to call them and play post flop or we can 3bet/fold them?

I meant his range for 3betting for value can be that. We don't necessarily do amazingly vs his 4bet/calling range (in fact with JJ we may be losing slightly), however with QQ+ and AK we have a ton of fold equity for when villain has air/quite good equity against his range anyway. JJ I would personally just flat but he can definitely have it in his 3betting range.

Generally I find that these tournaments play more aggressive, so I feel regs usually have enough bluffs in their range to get it in with AK and QQ and call it a cooler if we're beat.
