BTN: $207.86
Hero (SB): $630.30
BB: $274.44
UTG: $260.44
MP: $375.49
CO: $200.00

Pre Flop: ($3.00) Hero is SB with J♠ T♣
3 folds, BTN raises to $4, Hero raises to $16, BB calls $14, 1 fold

Flop: ($36.00) Q♦ Q♣ 9♦ (2 players)
Hero bets $21.00, BB calls $21

Turn: ($78.00) K♣ (2 players)
Hero bets $63.00, BB calls $63

River: ($204.00) A♥ (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $108.64, Hero ?

Villain is a 21/18 TAG, no other info.

1) Do I bet Flop? His range looks like AQ/JJ/TT/99 mostly, but I block half combos of JJ and TT. Is this a c/f on the Flop?

If he somehow slowplays AA/KK like 20% of the time, and occasionally AK as well, then I'm only folding out 99 and AK with a bet.

hands continuing vs a bet
JJ/TT (6 combos)
QQ+ (2-3 combos)
AQ (8 combos)

hands which are folding
AK (3 combos)
99 (3-6 combos)

I guess you can argue that I'm actually folding out the required 33% of hands by half potting (and furthermore I have equity with straight draws) but it's really close. I'm definitely check/folding AK and even 9X in this spot.

2) When I make my straight, I don't think he has KK/KQs all that often. So my plan was to 3 barrel

3) River sucks hard for me. Is this a check/fold? I lose to AQ a lot now, betting doesn't seem to accomplish much when his range is weighted towards boats. I guess he doesn't have too many busted flush draws given that he's a TAG and TAGs don't coldcall 3bets with stuff like 78s

Hey,

The flop bet is close but probably slightly better than checking. I think the turn is a pretty clear check though: you still stack AQ, you almost certainly get more value from JJ/TT and you still get stacked by everything better. As played, sucks really hard on river vs the half pot bet but it's almost certainly a fold vs a random tag.

Well, you definitely do not fold out 99, so the only hand folding is AK, which leads me to think that we have to c/f flop unless villain bets smallish?

I think the combination of equity + fold equity + implied odds is good enough to make the cbet profitable.

Why such a narrow range? It's BTN vs SB right!? I think this range will be closer: JJ-66,AQo-AJo,KQo,AQs-ATs,A5s-A2s,KQs-KTs,QJs-QTs,JTs,T9s,98s,87s,76s.
