Hi
I have a desktop and am going to connect up my laptop as a second monitor.
Is it better to get a vga cable or will I be able to do it through using freeware synergy or some other software?
Thanks

I am not sure that this would work at all.

I know that you can use a standalone monitor as a 2nd monitor with most laptops. I do this all the time.

Most OSs do this easily, however there is no way that I currently know of to get a VGA signal INTO a laptop from the outside.

If you know otherwise, please provide a link, because I could use this capability myself.

Several software exists to provide solutions for such things.

I have never used on but this was my first hit on Google:

http://www.zoneos.com/zonescreen.htm

(according to another page it doesn't support 64-bit OS)
