Question 1: What is your motivation for playing poker? (Be as vague or specific as you want with this one, but try to think of all the reasons and elaborate on them.)
I started playing poker because a friend of mine told me that he thought I had a good mindset and very much potential to do well at it. After playing for a bit, I realised that it is actually a very fun game and can be quite lucrative. In addition, learning strategy and how to play will help me develop some skills that do not only apply to poker, zum Beispiel, developing a better work ethic and self-discipline.
Question 2: What are your weaknesses when playing poker? (What are the mistakes you know you are making during your games? Are you playing while you're tired? Are you tilting easily? Want to see the showdown too much? Write down as many as you think are affecting you.)
The first mistake I have noticed while reviewing my hands is that I always shy away from being aggressive on the River, even when I am 90% sure that i have the best hand. I get scared of aggression from other players and it ends up making me lose a lot of potential winnings.
Another weakness I have is that I play too loosely pre-flop, in the hopes that I will win something. I also get attached to my hand and am not very good at laying down weak made hands.
Playing draws is also a difficulty for me.
Question 3: What does it mean to play tight aggressive? (Describe in your own words what playing tight aggressive is and why does it work.)
Playing tight and aggressive means that you play a select range of hands, and almost always have the initiative. This method works because when you have a good hand and put your opponents under pressure, you cause them to make mistakes, and therefore profit from their mistakes.
