I am in San Jose, Costa Rica for 3 months to learn spanish...But during this time i would love to grind a bit live...
Does anybody know where i can find a good, secure casino???
I already went to Hotel Del Rey, but that looked more like a whorehouse than a casino... I didn't really feel safe playing there...

life is good so for....haven t been able to play much these last days. i had to study spanish and travel around a bit.....
but i am playing non stop fom now on... live and online....

I only play cash games
i am from Belgium...i haven't played much live in Belgium, cause you have to be 21 ( which i only turned last year) + they only have 3 tables, and you ll only find action during the weekends from 8 pm till 4, 5 am...so thats only 9 hours...
and the limit of 3 tables makes it almost impossible for compulsive drunk people to play...
But 2 months ago i went to Melbourne....played 10 days....schedule : waking up- going to the casino - sleeping - waking up - going to the casino-.....
I was happy about my results there so...
I like to play live, cause i think people are so much worse...It took me a couple of BI to adjust to live...But after reading the LLSNL blogs on 2+2 i got a hang of it...
So that's why i would like to play live in Costa Rica....
+ people in Costa rica are very poor...so 1/2 is like playing 10/20 in a normal casino...you get treaten like a king
But this also leads to the 'not feeling so safe on the streets'

Make some friends to go to casino with so you don't have to travel alone whilst carrying money.
I have no idea about costa rica whats the average monthly salary over there?
Yeh playing live you do tend to be able to pick up on more things, and the players can be a lot weaker.
Have you started a blog here yet? Or thought about doing so? Thats also a good way to meet a lot of people here maybe you will find someone nearer to you. Also would be cool to have a live blog going, we don't get too many of those

The problem is i don't know anybody in Costa Rica that plays poker...So if somebody lives in San Jose and plays live or online.... i am always up to hang out and talk poker and other stuff...
Ill make a blog if i find a descent casino, where i feel safe playing and where they play a descent amount of time.
I am still looking but i ve got some adresses that i am going to check out this weekend...If games are good ill probably play like 4 days a week...
Ill put some pictures up at the end of the week...
