What is the Gemstone Promotion?

The Gemstone VIP promotion is exclusive to PokerStrategy.com and runs throughout the whole of 2013. The objective is simple: earn http://resources.pokerstrategy.com/2012/12/18/gemstone-miniicon-green.png green Gemstones for every 2,500 StrategyPoints and red Gemstones for every 7,500 StrategyPoints you generate per month at one of our participating rooms.

Added value on top of all other rewards!

Every 7,500 StrategyPoints generated per month at one of the above rooms is worth one red Gemstone.

Please note that bonus StrategyPoints DO NOT count towards the Gemstone promotion.

... ... ... ...

Please note that the promotion is not capped at 15,000 StrategyPoints and you continue collecting Gemstones for every additional 2,500 and 7,500 StrategyPoints.

Important: The required 2,500 StrategyPoints or 7,500 StrategyPoints must be generated at exactly one participating poker room in order to receive a Gemstone. You can play at more than one of the participating poker rooms, but must meet the minimum 2,500 or 7,500 StrategyPoints requirement at each room per month.

Consistency is rewarded

This promotion is all about consistency. Earning Gemstones every month will leave you with substantial rewards at the end of 2013, whereas months of inactivity will cost you Gemstones:

• Miss one month of 2,500+ SP: lose one http://resources.pokerstrategy.com/2012/12/18/gemstone-miniicon-green.png green Gemstone

• Miss two consecutive months of 2,500+ SP: http://resources.pokerstrategy.com/2012/12/18/gemstone-miniicon-green.png green Gemstone balance reset to 0

• Miss one month of 7,500+ SP: lose one red Gemstone

• Miss two consecutive months of 7,500+ SP: red Gemstone balance reset to 0

It is not possible to have a negative Gemstone balance, so if you do miss consecutive months you don't have to grind your way out of negative numbers.

The full yearly cash amount will be paid out in January 2014, after all data has been collected

Note: Your prize will be paid out directly into your poker room account(s), with the respective number of Gemstones earned at each room converted into cash in that poker room's account.

Example: At the end of the year, you have 25 green Gemstones at Poker Room A and 4 green Gemstones at Poker Room B. This equals 29 Green Gemstones in total worth $725. $625 will be paid into your Poker Room A account, while the other $100 goes into your account at Poker Room B.

Added value for January and February Gemstones

To give you a kick-start into our Gemstone 2013 VIP promotion, we will triple all Gemstones you earn in January and double all Gemstones you earn in February.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do bonus StrategyPoints count towards the 2,500/7,500 StrategyPoints?

No. Bonus StrategyPoints, such as double StrategyPoints promotions or points bought in the points shop, do not count for the Gemstone Promotion.

Will there be any changes to the number of StrategyPoints given at the participating poker room?

We reserve the right to change the amount of StrategyPoints we award at each of the participating poker rooms. If, for example, a particular market is regulated, some changes are required.

Can I play on several participating poker rooms at the same time?

Yes, you can earn Gemstones on several participating poker rooms at the same time. However, you must generate at least 2,500/7,500 StrategyPoints on each single room per month to earn one green/red Gemstone and cannot combine your totals for a single Gemstone.

Can I get my cash amount paid out on another poker room or in my Tell-a-Friend, Skrill or NETELLER account?

No, the money will only be paid out at the poker room where you earned the Gemstones.

Is the payout real cash or a clearable bonus?

The prize you earn in the Gemstone Promotion is real cash, which means that you can play with it right away.

How can I check to see how many Gemstones I have earned so far?

On the left side of the home page, under the "My Points" section, you can see how many Gemstones you have earned per month so far this year.

So, the 10bp we get per day don't count? For example, I make 12 points in a day, and pokerstrategy gives me 10 bps, just 12 points count to the gemstone?

and btw, if I make 7500, I lose the 2 green gemstones and just get 1 red? 2500+2500 = 2 greens, but if I reach +2500=7500 ?(

Will more rooms be added to this promotion or is that it for the year?

Also are you rewarded for gemstones exceeding $300/15K SP per month? Say I earn 30K SP a month, would that equate to $600?

Hello carrapa,

Unfortunately Bonus StrategyPoints never counted towards any promotion, not this years Gemstone promotion either (unless its mentioned otherwise).

You don't lose green gemstones, by making 7,500 StrategyPoints, you'll be awarded with 3 green and 1 red gemstones. :) See table description below.

If you need more detailed calculation, catch me on skype and we can discuss your yearly play and rewards.

Hey Andyuk18,

I can't say 100% that the current Gemstone rooms are our final poker rooms included in this promotion so I advise you to keep an eye on our news page to be up to date.

Regarding the Gemstone rewards, it is uncapped. You will receive gemstones:

- for every 2.5k SPs a green one
- for every 7.5k SPs a red one

I hope this helps?

I guess you just did not notice that one red gem is now 75$ instead of 150$, so you won't lose anything.

That's not exactly true, making 7.5k StrategyPoints will enable you to also receive 3x green gemstones and that equals to $75 + 1 red gemstones $75.

Why isn't it exactly true? He just thought that 7.5k SP=150$=1 red gem like in 2012, whereas now it's 7.5k SP=150$=1 red gem + 3 green gems=75$ + 3*25$.

So Gemstones are now worth less, and if you don't play for 2 months you lose 100% of your progress?

but it alows people like me to get some $$, because I would never do 7500 sp in the near future.

So say you earned 5k sp at 2 different rooms, that's 4 green gemstones rather than 4 green and a red right?

I like these changes btw, apart from the bit about losing all progress...why not just deduct 1 per month? Or even better, just give out less $$ but without the added stress of having to play every month.

I think the majority of people would prefer having a guaranteed bit of extra rakeback than having slightly more but having to jump through all kinds of hoops to get it.

So bwin is ineligible for Gemstones? Is there any advantage for a PartyPoker VIP to open a bwin account through PokerStrategy before tonight's deadline? Will a new bwin account still be tagged to the earlier PartyPoker affiliate?

Hi Matt,

This years Gemstone promotion allowed players to go down to minus Gemstones which made it very difficult to any player to grind it back if they were inactive for months.

The new 2013 Gemstone promotion will allow you to stop at zero and start again from balance 0 rather than trying to make up for all the minuses. Yes its more drastic but but keep playing will get you out of trouble.

I hope this helps.

Last year's pay out!

2,500 SP -> 0
5,000 SP -> 0
7,500 SP -> $150

This year's pay out!

2,500 SP -> $25
5,000 SP -> $25
7,500 SP -> $25 + $75

Hey Jan, how are you?

Your calculation is correct as long as it's earned on two Gemstone rooms. :)

The only "hoops" are to keep playing every month, which is normal to any vip system out there at any given poker room. Consistency will pay off. The deduction to zero after 2 months inactivity is made to avoid users go into depths of minus gemstones and to encourage you to play every month at least the bare minimum and get a nice reward at the end of next year.

I hope this helps.

Are the January and February bonus gemstones (I think it was Jan and Feb?) paid in money or as gemstones that are paid at the end of the year?

Hello k1rsten,

Welcome to our community and best place to do your first post!

Yes, that's correct. Party Network (Party, bwin, WPT) is excluded of the 2013 Gemstone promotion.

Could you please catch me on skype: ingrid.nagy.ps and I can explain you the details of the rest.

Thank you
Ingrid
