Hi Dracsharp,

Preflop: looks fine

Flop: Looks fine. bet size is fine as well.

Turn: There's not a lot of value left however we can still get called by draws so we could make a 1/2 pot bet, however checking back is fine too.

River: Normally I would say we need to bet fold here because there are more better FDs than worse and usually worse ones don't raise as often as better ones.

If he raises 84ss he also raises:
1) better flushes: AsQs,AsJs,QsJs,As8s,Qs8s,Js8s,As7s,Qs7s,Js7s,8s7s,As4s,Qs4s,Js4s, As3s,Qs3s,Js3s,,As2s,Qs2s,Js2s

2) worse flushes: 8s4s,7s4s,8s3s,7s3s,4s3s8s2s,7s2s,4s2s,3s2s

He may not even play half of those worse flushes but let's assume he does.

That means that we win about 35% of the time.

Pot odds for his raise: 36%

So in the best case scenario for us we are around break even (less when considering rake).

So as you can see it's a bet/fold.

I agree against only flush it is the most marginal call ever, however can you be sure he doesn't play like this with some of his straights ? He was obviously eager to potsize raise me with his trapping.

Even only t7 would make us look pretty.

Can we really expect a fishy passive guy to raise a straight, for pot size, on such a board? I personally wouldn't.
