PokerStars - $0.10 NL - Holdem - 9 players

UTG+1: $10.00
UTG+2: $4.10
MP: $17.95
MP+1: $3.45
CO: $10.78
BTN: $7.16
Hero (SB): $9.90
BB: $14.53
UTG: $10.51

Hero posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has 3♥ 3♦

fold, fold, fold, MP raises to $0.30, MP+1 calls $0.30, fold, BTN calls $0.30, Hero calls $0.25, BB calls $0.20

Flop: ($1.50, 5 players) 4♠ 7♠ 3♠
Hero checks, BB checks, MP bets $0.20, MP+1 raises to $2.00, BTN calls $2.00, Hero raises to $9.60 and is all-in, fold, fold, MP+1 calls $1.15 and is all-in, BTN calls $4.86 and is all-in

Turn: ($18.57, 3 players) 5♥

River: ($18.57, 3 players) 2♥

The continuation bet was puny and I know the villain who raised the cbet fairly well; he's kinda loose and could easily raise with overpair, top pair or even overcards with or without a flush draw. The second was unknown and by flat calling I assumed he was on a flush draw.

I would like to know if the shoving was correct or should I almost always expect to be behind on situations like these?

Hi Boozaf,

Preflop: Looks fine

Flop: Considering both MP+1 and BTN are shorter guys we can assume they are both fishy.

Because of your reads on MP+1 and because BTN is shorter we can assume that we are in decent shape here. Of course they will ocassionally have made flushes and/or better sets (even some straights).

Homework for you: set up equilab with the board and 3 different players and see how we do vs some ranges you'd assign them.

Before you hit the evaluate button take a guess as to how big your equity will be.
