If you go with your read and put him mostly on high cards then flop shove is fine.
Live tourneys players are not 3-betting usually that much, so I don´t think you get 3-bet too many worse hands if you open UTG, so you can always give friend a credit and fold pre-flop or if you call then fold flop (seems strange calling pre-flop and folding overpair), but if payers would not c-bet too often AK that spot, then it should be profitable.

Yes this is overplayed, it's a 3bet pot you've raised from UTG (albeit with a wide range) and villain's 3bet you. You elect to call the 3bet rather than putting it in pre (which is absolutely fine). However postflop you should try to induce from his overcard hands rather than try to get him to make an incorrect call (which presumably he won't do) or make a correct fold (which is bad for us, because it's a correct fold). I would choose to check/call the flop.

Also, try not to adopt the mentality of putting people on high cards or putting people on AK etc. Nothing in his play indicates this at such an early stage.

BTW personally I'd call (or fold preflop, both fine), then check/call flop, and most likely check/fold the turn, expecting him not to bluff blank turns too often.
