Preflop: Hero is BB with Q Q
4 folds, SB raises to $0.30, Hero raises to $0.90, SB calls $0.60

Flop: ($1.80) 8 K 3 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $1, SB calls $1

Turn: ($3.80) K (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($3.80) 6 (2 players)
SB bets $2.20, Hero folds

Results:

Spoiler

$3.80 pot ($0.25 rake)
Final Board: 8 K 3 K 6
Hero mucked Q Q and lost (-$1.90 net)
SB mucked and won $3.55 ($1.65 net)

Question on this hand is should I have played b/f on the turn, maybe for around 1/3 -> 1/2 pot? Could have bought a cheap showdown as I was IP and if I'd been raised would have known I was behind

Hello,

Preflop I'd rather make it $1.

On the flop I like betting.

The K is actually a good card for us, so I think we can bet as well to take value from PPs/8 probable some Ax as well.
I would bet around $1.9-$2 here.

As played, I think we have to call here on the river.

Best,
Plamen

Thanks for the feedback. Just a couple of questions

1. Why do you consider the K a good card? If villain didn't believe our cbet, is the K likely to change anything? Or are we betting again merely to increase the pressure on opponent?

2. So say we make your play on the turn, and get called. Would you bet the river, check/call, or give up and fold to a bet?

Obviously this may depend on the size of the bet.

Hello again,

So K is a good card since the combinations of Kx he could have are now significantly less plus this goes the same way for him - we have less Kx combos so he'd be more inclined to check/call with his pair or Ax.

If he calls the turn when we bet, I'd check back the river.
Don't really see much value in a third bet without any information so I'd just check back and see the SD.

Best,
Plamen
