Why is 789T better than 78QK.. isnt the 1st one blocking the other 2cards outs??

On flops like 456 with 789T you have an 8 high straight but you have redraws to higher straights. So against someone else with a 8 high straight you can improve your hand and win the pot rather than half.
Also with a hand like 789T when the flop comes J65 you have 13 cards to hit a nut straight on the turn. With KQ87 you only have 8 cards on the same flop.
