You didn't mention if villain was tight or loose passive ?
Either way here's how I would have played the hand in each case.
TP: Limp preflop, stab 1/2pot on flop, give up when called. Easy fold on river.
LP: same except make a small bet - maybe 100-110 - on turn. Check behind river.

interesting alternatives indeed 
w/o reads this is a really hard spot. I think i'd fold because both his fd and SD completed. He made some 2P , but these are a quite marginal portion of his range , and i don't see ppl blockbetting 2P on a board where both a flush and straight are possible.
