Just installed elephant, and over a session of 700 hands my average AF is 4.1. 6.1 on the flop, 2.9 on the turn and 1.3 on the river. My vp$ip is 16.5%.

Edit: after another 100 hands, my AF went down to 3.3. Is it usual for it to fluctuate this much?

It depends on what you're playing.
SSS or BSS makes a difference in your stats.

And besides your VPIP, we also need PFR to determine some things :)

playing BSS @ NL5, and my pfr was ~10% i think, with 25% first in raise on late pos

700 hands are a too small sample, but I know a good AF for a 16/12 player is 3.

Nope ur not. U have to play pos. and the raise is obv. since u must put pressure on the table. This will exclude a lot of limpers, and u will often be able to play headsup aganist the weakest player. At a shorthanded table u will be able to play 26-30 pfr 20-23 and still ur not a lag. And AF 2.5- 5 its normal when u seldom check post after u opend the hand and its check to u. The other streets depends on the villain, and ur hit at the board. Sometime u have a table where u can smallball allot and then u will have an AF aprox 10, and still grind ur money. So dont see u blind at ur stats but try to play the table instead.
