CO: $748.90 (187.2 bb)
BTN: $285.90 (71.5 bb)
SB: $766.64 (191.7 bb)
BB: $440.65 (110.2 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K Q
Hero raises to $12, 4 folds, BB calls $8

Flop: ($26) 7 9 T (2 players)
BB bets $15, Hero calls $15

Turn: ($56) A (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $40, BB calls $40

River: ($136) T (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $162

Villain TAG, no big sample, no history. Once again anon table.

Just want to hear your thoughts on this overbet OTR. Don't think I like it, since his range is probably very Tx heavy when he donks this board where he probably thinks I am going to check back a decent amount of the time.

Hi,

Interesting hand because I think you have way more Tx in your range than he does being in the bb. As far as nutted hands go he can't/shouldn't x/r river here because your range contains AT/AA also where as his shouldn't so I feel like overbetting is a an ok play with those hands + bluffs but the problem is we will also have TJ/TQ in our range and I think it would be a mistake to bet that big with those and I don't want to check them so I prefer a smaller sizing.

Since this is an anon table I don't think we need to concern us with playing balanced and just focus on the best vacuum line. In this spot I want to maximize FEQ, is then overbetting a good option? Or can we rly expect an average reg to fold Tx in this spot (which I assume is what the majority of his range consists of here)?

I would say no not for that size but you should have a much better idea of what he plays like than I do.

What size would you prefer then? Or is it too optimistic to even try to get him anything here?

And actually, I don't know villain any more than you do. Only thing I knew up to this point was that he a reg, normal TAG stats, but sample very small.

you rep really narrow here i dont like it.

You would check AX back on the River, and you would not bet TX on the Turn. Thus you are only repping boats and 86s.

Since it's anon, I think best is to just give up. If I had a read that he was leading with like 88/JJ here I don't mind betting like 40% of the pot to make him fold that.

And if you are playing anon tables, you should be playing less tables so you can focus more on the action and identifying the fish/what players play like.

Good, then we are on the same page!

I didn't like my overbet very much either, just wanted to see it was as bad as I thought :)

And yeah playing less tables is probably a good idea when the majority of your tables are anon ones. I am just too much of a rakeback whore to resist mulitabling a fair amount. :P
