i believe its standard, just checking :) i dont think i can ever fold a 2nd pair being this shallow, especially when the turn pairs the top card. I obv dont love my life since he may easily be trapping with a limped monster or a random Qx but how can i ever fold it?

if i dont feel great bet/calling turn would you rather check it back to call absolutely any river even if he shoves it (it would be 3x pot)?

I bet this flop. Yeah, we have a mid pair that's worth nothing on most Turns...I don't mind turning it into a bluff by bet/folding flop. If it would be QJx and us holding the J6, then checking behind would make much more sense.

As played-what can I tell you...it looks like a call, really, although his low agg. f. bothers me a lot. He can have draws. I think folding here could be the bigger mistake.

is there any way/chance you can get <3 to have a look at it? If not than ill try to reach him somehow and ask him myslef. Cause from what i understand he would advocate moe of a pot comtrol line in such spots. At least thats what i got from his eval of similar hands (BvB, limped pot, passive SB, semi decent hand on the flop --> ch back flop, most likely call one bet on either turn or river). Theres obv a chance i got it all wrong :) or maybe simply this is not such a spot (cause we're so shallow for example).

back to the hand itself though - can you really bet/fold flop in this spot being 7bb deep??? and if thats so wouldnt that be a good reason to pot control? obv every overcard on the turn (2/3 of the deck) is not great but i still wouldnt mind calling a normal sized bet once.

Poker is about estimation, different style, approach to the game, isn't it? I respect <3 so much, but I also stand up by my evaluation. I told you my reasoning, hope you understand it. To make it a bit clearer though-if we have the best hand, we better take the pot down now, when we have a marginal second pair than giving our opponent a chance to realize some free equity and outdraw us. What happens if the T comes a 9 or K, or any overcard to our mid pair and he leads? Most of the cards from the deck are gonna be overs...I also gave you the example of what would it be, if the flop was QJx rainbow or say, AJxr and he checks....

Also, on such a dry board, you wouldn't expect a passive opponent like this guy to limp, then to check/shove, would you? And when he does...do you really think he's bluffing? Cuz it screams a trap to me... So that would make my bet/fold on the flop a lot easier.

To me, you have 2 options that are best:

-either bet flop and try to check it down unimproved
-or just try to check it down unimproved(less prefferable)

p.s.-also, for less than 10bb eff. bvb, when somebody limps(unless I expect traps all the time), if he limp/bet, I stack off with any pair, any decent draw. Here the situation is different though.

Feel free to pm <3 if you want to hear his opinion as well.

Sorry for a late reply. First of all i didn't mean no disrespect, i do value your evals/advice a lot and i know you know it :) While i agree that poker is all abt different styles/approaches and eventually mastering your own i also think that against particular plrs there are some lines that are defo better than others (even if both are +EV for example) and even though we need a lot of hands/very specific reads to establish those against a single plr we may do that quite quickly against a certain type of plrs in a certain situation. Meaning that i believe that there is one, clearly best way to play a weak 2nd pair BvB against a passive fish open completing and checking flop to us and i want to find it and imprint it in my brain :) i'm sure you understand it, were all here to lear after all. So once again i didnt mean to offend/discredit you in any way and im trully sorry if i did. Hope we're good :f_love:

Ofc, we are good, don't worry :) That's why I told you- when you ask me- I do that. You are free to take a different approach in your games or ask a different coach to share his opinion :)

Take care, bro!
