Pacific, $5 Buy-in (50/100 blinds) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 6 Players

SB: 2,816 (28.2 bb)
BB: 868 (8.7 bb)
UTG: 4,699 (47 bb)
Hero (MP): 3,183 (31.8 bb)
CO: 3,744 (37.4 bb)
BTN: 6,282 (62.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 9 9
UTG raises to 550, Hero calls 550, 4 folds

Flop: (1,250) 6 T 5 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets 625, UTG raises to 1,250,

What do I do? I decided it came down to a shove or fold as calling would leave me with an M<10
The player involved was quite new to the table so didnt have much info to go on, but no one at the table had been betting their draws

Hello slippyjim,

Preflop:

Just fold. We can't call for set after this big raise and our hands stands bad against his range.

Flop:

wp here. Bet to take the pot and fold to this raise is fine. No need to level our self and call here with second pair.

I did think about folding pre flop, but I think because I had been so card dead for so long I couldnt resist.

What is the minimum pocket pair I need to call in this situation, Jacks or Tens? Obviously I'm 3 betting with Aces and Kings and maybe Queens
