I'd just flat this pre.

You have good high pair and decent side cards, you can hit str8 etc and stack-off or play post-flop in position.

QQJ8 with 3 spades looks fine to fold preflop to an UTG open. Double suited I would play this but you wont improve enough on the flop to be able to carry on with the hand.

so what i understand from this hand and from another hand i posted is that if i have 3 cards of the same suit then the hand is pretty much a bad hand...
Is this right?

not really. I would never fold QQJT, but since 8 is not that connected than T then you can always play it safe and just fold preflop before getting difficult postflop spots

Having a third card of a suit in your hand reduces the chance of you hitting a flush by about 11% IIRC
