SB ($20)
BB ($20.61)
UTG ($13.15)
UTG+1 ($10.23)
CO ($21.83)

Dealt to Hero 8♦ A♦

UTG calls $0.20, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.80, fold, fold, UTG calls $0.60

FLOP ($1.90) 2♥ Q♠ Q♦

UTG checks, Hero bets $1, UTG raises to $2, Hero calls $1

TURN ($5.90) 2♥ Q♠ Q♦ 4♠

UTG bets $2.90, Hero folds

UTG wins $5.61

76/8, afq total 36, raise cbet 27% (11), fcbet 36, 51h

notes:
snap call cbet w TPTK OOP, check turn and river

I did not believe he has a hand there.
But the problem is - what to do on turn? Looks still like a bluff or he uses his image now with Qx

Maybe should not even cbet a flop. But its good to fold his equity and I have best hand very often.

Hey SF,

I don't know if cbetting here is the best idea.. he folds about 36% to cbets so far so how much would he fold here when it's unlikely for you to hit? It's probably a marginal spot to cbet but afterwards it's a clear fold against the raise. You can bet/call some good pairs, not weak A high.

Then yeah, not even cbet if I dont call a raise. As I remember, he had raised my cbets 2 times before maybe. So really did not expect him to have a hand when "always" raising cbet.

Yes, he doesn't always have A HAND, or the so called nuts when you say a hand but everything has good playability and equity vs your hand which is not want you want when facing aggression. Hope you get the reasoning here.. :)

thats true. But somehow it looks that not everytime its the reason to fold. Sometimes we call even knowning that playability is bad. For example vs cbets when havign 2nd pair, OOP drawy board. They can barrel a lot on turn, but we call hoping to get to showdown.

The thing is the example you thought about is that they don't barrel as a bluff that often because we can also have many redraws. That means what looks like a bad card to us is also a bad card to their range so that's always something to take into a account.

Furthermore, having an A high that is not always the best A high is a lot worse than having a pair that you know is solid against some bluffs and a few vbets and clearly behind against another part of his range. Your equity and playability is still a lot better with a made hand that is not as vulnerable to get outdrawn by free cards. Although your winning % is not much higher, you realise it a lot more often with a made hand. Makes sense?

WHen their range is wide they can rep anything. For example JTxfd board - he cbets, we have Tx, call, turn completes the draw - he can still barrel by repping flush.

If turn is blank, then he can bet value hands and we know that our 2nd pair is not good. K then he can rep straight or Kx. So really not much bad cards for him.

But otherwise makes sense that pair is better than A high with weak kicker.

True but you also have that flush in your range so you can rep the flush too when it gets there, he won't mindlessly barrel if your range is perceived to be strong. If he does, he is making a mistake anyway so you don't care about one small part of your range when overall your opponent is basically spewing money.

If I have flush on turn, that means I had FD, which most often is a raise on flop, unless I know he is passive on turn, so I can call and then decide what to do.

But then it depends how he thinks what I am doing wiht FD, but might be bit too far level

Raising all flushdraws on the flop will certainly not be good. Maybe something to look into. There are many situations where a flushdraw is just too good to turn into such a bluff but at the same time too weak to 3bet and get it in. Usually it's OK to raise it against people that cbet a depolarised range and call with a strong range that can give you implied odds when you hit. If people cbet a polarised range, you can do very well with calling and playing later streets since they either have air and fold or strong hands against which your flushdraw is not good.

Keep in mind there are different strength flushdraws too so A high has more outs and showdown value than 3 high flushdraw. :)
