Hi I'm a full-time taxi driver and quite a few of my passengers and friends play poker either in casinos or on-line and tell me about it. So I started playing on-line a few months ago out of curiosity really. I enjoy the game but I don't feel I'm doing as well as I could do so I'm seeking help and advice from this site and I've started the NL beginners course.
I just play at at the 1 cent 2 cent limit, but I'm a losing player. I only lose a few dollars a week so financially it doesn't worry me. But I would like to at least break even and possibly make small profits from my new hobby.
My two main problems are:-
1- Like most beginers I play far too many hands.
2- When someone re-raises my bet or goes all-in against me pre-flop, for some reason I take it personally. It's as if they're saying that I'm a coward and don't have the guts for this game. So I feel I have to go all-in also, most times I lose but I feel at least I showed them that I'm not a coward even if it cost me money.
It may sound stupid but the rare times I do make money, is usually from these all-in situations. They go all-in usually with a big pair and I call with any pair, picture or suited cards and I get lucky by getting a flush, trips or even a full-house.
