SB: 18/13 af:3,1 3b:5,9 cbet: 92 after 194 hands, the only history we have is that earlier in the session he 4bet me with AA and I cracked his hand with JT87 stacking off on Jh flop. He may want to play back at me.

I call on the flop since apart from the weak flush draw and a gut shot I have some backdoors. I hit my flush on the turn but I'm not crazy about it. River is interesting since he did not shove and for me it is super weird and bluffy.

BB: $31.46
CO: $24.35
Hero (BTN): $27.77
SB: $57.84

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BTN with 9  8 :diamond: 5 :spade: T :diamond:
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.62, SB raises to $2.11, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.49

Flop: ($4.47) 4 :diamond: Q :diamond: 7 :club: (2 players)
SB bets $2.75, Hero calls $2.75

Turn: ($9.97) 2 :diamond: (2 players)
SB bets $5, Hero calls $5

River: ($19.97) 9 :club: (2 players)
SB bets $11.50, Hero calls $11.50

Hi,

in this spot, it comes down to personal reads. I'm inclined to fold otr to be honest. I just don't think he's bluffing here that often. From my experience, people at this stakes might bluff the turn, but most shut down otr as they don't have the courage to fire a 3rd barrel.

If you are sure his trying to "make you pay" for that previous hand, then i think a call is ok. It's still marginal. Even if his trying to play you, there's still quite a big chance villain has hit a flush as well.

Yeah, I called and he had AKJTds for a bluff without blockers. The reason I called (apart from the possibility of him wanting to make a play on me) is the river sizing. My hand looks like a flush after calling the turn. I think most villians pot the nut flush or bet smaller with non nut flushes on the river.

Is my reasoning good?

I've actually seen guys bet less than pot with the nuts. Just the other day, the flush hit, and the river SPR was 0,5. Still when i checked to the villain, he bet only 25 into 100 instead of shipping for 50. It looked wierd so i called, and got shown the stones

So imo it depends on players. Some really want to get a call, and that's the reason why they bet smaller. I really don't get him not shipping. That's just wierd. Wether it's a bluff or vbet, he should always go AI here. Anything other than that is just very wierd.
