Hi,

just a line check, what do you think about my post flop play ?

both players are unknown.

PF: std squeeze with this hand, its the better part of my bluffing range in BB vs MP.

Flop: bet to make him fold overcards with equity, and for value

Turn: I dont think I can bet again for value - hes not gonna call with worse pairs again and he shouldnt have many FDs either as I expect his range to be mostly suited stuff. Although he might have some AK combos.

So turn is close imo, decided to peel once and fold river if he bets.

Rivered 2pair, so I called it off..

Thoughts ?

Hey Dozeer,

I'm not a fan of the preflop squeeze. You get an excellent price to play a premium suited connector in a multiway pot with decent implieds. I have no clue why you'd want to turn this into a bluff! (Bluffing can easily be +EV though)

Flop cbet is fine. Partly for protection rather than value. If opponent has two overs and a 1 card flush draw he is a slight favourite.

I think turn is a check/fold. Even when you have the best hand opponent has a ton of equity + the possibility you will need to face a large river bet. In some cases you are drawing to 5 outs or drawing dead.

River call is borderline. I would imagine that if opponent will value bet a Kx like this you should call river. If he doesn't play a Kx this way you only beat bluffs and a fold is probably in order at 25nl.

Hi w34z3l,

I used to just flat with 98s in this spot, now I preffer to 3bet here to rather play HU pot than multiway.

Matt Janda explains the reasoning behind overplaying speculative hands in multiway pots in AoNLH on page 371 if you have the book.

Other than that I agree with your comment, the turn call is terrible _o:
