Hi guys,
I'm relatively new to pokerstrategy.com, but been playing poker every once in a while for a few years now. I guess I'm what you call a recreational player. Since I'm working full time and also have a girlfriend to take care of, I can't really grind huge volumes. Nevertheless, I'd like to get some focus and improve my game. That's why I'm setting myself this challenge:
Play 1000 5+1 Jackpot SNGs at Titan Poker until 25th Nov. 2013.
I know the rake of 1$ is huge and the chance of 5 consecutive wins or seconds is small (you get 15,000$ for 5 wins and 200$ for 5 second places in a row), but it seems like those tables fill up much quicker and the higher rake helps clearing my bonus until then. Thus, if I take into account the added benefit from clearing the bonus, plus rakeback, the 1$ fee reduces considerably
In any case, if I see that the extra rake is not worth it I shall switch.
Of course I also set some goals:
Overall goals:
- play 1000 games at 5+1 SNG
- achieve an ev roi of 10%
- post at least 3 hands in the hands discussion forum after each session
- reviw all marked hands before the start of the next session
- achieve gold status and read/watch all sng articles
- watch at least 2 videos on sng a week
Every 250 tourneys I will evaluate my game thoroughly and review all marked hands once again. Upon reaching certain goals, I will treat myself to a prize:
- ev roi achieved: go out for a nice dinner
- every 5% above ev roi: I'll plant a tree on http://www.iplantatree.org/project/10/plant.
- hands posted and analysed: allow myself to play 2 MTTs with BI < 3
- review hands: allow myself to play 2 MTTs with BI < 3
- achieve silver/gold status and read/watch all sng articles: go out for drinks
- watch at least 2 videos on sng a week: allow myself to play 2 MTTs with BI < 3
I'll post some graphs and interesting hands as I go. For now wish me luck ♦
