you bet $40 9x (20), air (5.7)
you check $0 twopair,set (15), air (50.3)

he calls a shove 9x (20)
he calls $40 9x (50), twopair (21.4)

a)If he calls the $400 bet more than 20% of the time, we should only shove with Q9.
b) if he calls less than 20% we should shove everything.

Is a) and b) correct?

a) yes, as a bluff shove is not good and a value bet with 9x is better than a split bluff.

b) no. with air a bluff is better than a check at 19% calls, so we shove all air.
But 9x still better to make a small value bet than to split bluff.
And a set has positive showdownvalue as well, you can check and win sometimes. This has higher EV than bluffing up to some call percent below 20%.

These are interesting questions.

- betting [33% ; 50%]pot is probably better than 60%+. Makes hero's perceived value range wider

- i would have split it this way: vbet {9x+}, cback {2p, sets, overpairs}, and mayble bluff the rest sometimes.
- Maybe vbetting bottom sets is okay though?

2) vs straightforward/standard reg
- how often do you think such a vilain has 9x?
It will change given vilain's preflop range and his flop strategy but assuming he defends sth like 20-25% preflop

and c/r {sets, 2p, fd+str8draws, str8draws} and calls {pairs, other fds, sometimes oesd} on the flop?

- i thought it was a bad spot for a bluff but assming he call {2p+} only its prolly a good spot to bluff cheaply?
