I 4-bet to see how does my hand stand. I feel like I gave up a bit to easily

Hi Stevie8,

Preflop: What do you mean by 4-bet to see how you stand? You either 4-bet for value since you think you'll be ahead or you 4-bet as a bluff.

As played I agree with ck/folding this particular flop.

By 4-betting I get some information about his hand: If he reraises then he must have AA or KK; if he just calls I am ahead most of the time and can take it down with a contibet. That's what I mean by "seeing where I stand with my hand".

So you really raised for value vs his calling range to isolate him. However I think that this deep KK can also call rather than 5 bet.
