Hi,

Villain plays 22/11/4.2-3bet/369 hands .

I open UTG and he 3bets me from SB and BB , a fish calls, i called aswell. I flopped TP and he starts betting. I know that he is strong preflop when he 3bets from SB vs UTG raise. What is the best line here? 4bet preflop ? What i dont like about my line is that i never expect to win the pot at showdown. Best case scenario for me here is to split the pot but often he will have AA or KK and when i will flop TP i will be screwed. What is the best line vs a weak reg that 3bets from SB vs our UTG open?

Thanks!

Hey D,

I would first of all 4bet preflop. You waste so much equity when you just call here, even if SB's range is like JJ+, AK you prob have a higher EV to 4bet and get it in than call and then let BB get some of your EV.

As played, if you don't call AK, you only call QQ so 3 combos. If you don't have too many random hands that get to the river it's not a major problem since SB is not weak but it's not that great either to fold so close to the top of your pre, flop, turn and river range.
