Hello people,

I'm new here, and I'm currently a 50NL zoom player. (I think) I have a pretty decent grasp of what I'm doing, but a lack of discipline often affects my game. Therefore, for my first post, I intend to start a blog of how my game progresses since joining PokerStrategy.com :)

I've thought about the whole "starting again" approach for a while, and so have jotted these notes down about how I intend to play:

Aim:
------

Starting with 20 BI at 50NL ($1k), progress to 200/400NL in the shortest time possible.

Moving Up Rules:
---------------------

100NL - $2k5 (25 BI) with 5 BI shots
200NL - $6k (30 BI) with 5 BI shots
400NL - $16k (40 BI) with 5 BI shots
Must be comfortable at current stake to move up, and profitable over previous 50k hands of over 5BB/100 (PT4).

Moving Down Rules:
------------------------

As above for shots.
25NL - Move down at $500. Back to 100NL at $750 (15 BI)
Due to a full time occupation, I'll always be rolled to play at least 25NL

Long Term Goals:
---------------------

50k hands per month
Profitable every month

Rules To Achieve:
--------------------

Stop playing for the day at a 5 BI loss if below -20BB/100, with lee-way of 2 BI if comfortable
Stop playing for the day at a 10 BI win if above 30BB/100
3 hours of learning per week at minimum
Create 1 video per week
NEVER PLAY DRUNK!
Review after every session, and a large review every 25k hands
Blog on PokerStrategy consistently, especially during losing periods
Aim to use FPP to supplement bankroll - Aim to achieve and keep high VIP status (Platinum for 2013, and aim for Supernova in 2014)
Establish a method of marking players (My HUD doesn't work as I play on a Mac)
Initially, establish rough ranges of hands per position
Do not play on phone/ipad unless significantly comfortable at stake and with good connection

I may update this list over time, including non-poker orientated goals, but I guess it depends on how much I get into the whole blog writing aspect.

Sometimes people just play right into your hands:

BTN: $23.74

Hero (BB): $54.77
UTG: $39.38
MP: $27.18
CO: $75.44

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with J :diamond: J
1 fold, MP raises to $1.25, CO raises to $4, 2 folds, Hero calls $3.50, MP raises to $10.25, 1 fold, Hero calls $6.25

Flop: ($24.75) J :club: J :spade: 6 :diamond: (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $16.93 all in, Hero calls $16.93

Turn: ($58.61) Q :spade: (2 players - 1 is all in)

River: ($58.61) 4 :spade: (2 players - 1 is all in)

Final Pot: $58.61
Hero shows J :diamond: J  (four of a kind, Jacks)
MP shows T :diamond: T :spade: (two pair, Jacks and Tens)

It all balances out though. I think shoving JJ into a cc/4b is the perfect play, with alot of FE and a stronger range when he does call:
